What’s on the bookshelf?  Just a few of my favorite books.

I love to spend hours and hours in the sun reading a good book (with sunscreen of course). Historical fiction sweeps me into other cultures and places in the world all while learning a bit about the past. Other books help me grow personally and coach clients. These selections make great picks for my Inspired Book Club. The gift of these books is that it makes sense of life’s messes and patch the hole in my heart, helping me see the myths in society and allowing a more expansive perspective. If you want clarity, compassion and contentment this summer choose any one of these amazing books.  If you are interested in joining my Inspired Life Book Club send me an email. We would love to have you join us!

Dare to Lead, by Brene Brown
For anyone working in any company anywhere, Brene gives us wonderful insight on how to use vulnerability and compassion to take our businesses and work lives to new heights.

Breakfast with Buddha, by Roland Merullo

Breakfast with Buddha, by Roland Merullo
Fun and thoughtful fiction about a road trip with a monk. “Why so angry Otto?” Rinpoche asks, which is certainly a question we can all reflect on. (Yes, there are books about lunch and dinner with Buddha too!)

The Alchemist, by Paulo Coehlo
When you are ready to follow your dreams, this fable is for you. When you are ready, the whole universe conspires to help you!

Wintering: The Power of Rest & Retreat in Difficult Times, by Katherine May
May’s beautiful prose and perspective using winter as symbolic of darkness and retreat, of letting go yet also preparing, can help us through our own dark times. (Yes, I see the irony in this book as a summer read!)

Your Erroneous Zones, by Wayne Dyer
A classic that never gets old. Written in 1976 and just as relevant today as ever. Timeless wisdom from the late master. This book launched Wayne to fame and he went on to write over 40 more books to help us live our best lives.

The Book of Joy, by Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu
These two spiritual leaders guide us toward more joy in life. Both have suffered tremendously. Both come from different religious traditions. Their combined wisdom is a roadmap to joy.

The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle
To truly understand the voice of ego and separate it from our being (the difference between our lower selves and our higher selves) is the most freeing knowledge we can ever know. It will change your life.
